Dank's Dermal Defense ("Dank Sun," "we," "us") is a small-batch mineral sun-care maker in Santa Cruz, California. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit danksun.com or place an order, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we keep it safe. We keep our data practices about as minimal as our ingredient lists — we only collect what we need to take your order, ship your product, and stay in touch if you ask us to.

When you visit our site, our web host automatically records standard technical information in its server logs — such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you request. This is routine information that nearly every website's host keeps to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we do not currently use third-party analytics tools to profile visitors.

04Cookies & Tracking
Our checkout relies on cookies to function. Stripe sets cookies during checkout to process your payment and help prevent fraud. Our own site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, though blocking Stripe's cookies may prevent checkout from working.
05Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry-wide standard for how to respond to these signals, so our site does not currently respond to them differently. Regardless of any DNT signal, we do not sell your personal information or share it for third-party advertising.

Our site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection, and payment data is handled entirely by Stripe under its PCI-DSS security standards — meaning sensitive card data never touches our own systems. As a small operation, we limit access to order information to only what's needed to fulfill your order. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, so while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.
07How Long We Keep It
We keep order and contact information for as long as needed to fulfill your order, provide support, and meet our accounting, tax, and legal obligations. If you've opted into marketing emails, we keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
08Your Choices & Rights
- Marketing emails: if you opted in, every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
- Access, correction, or deletion: you can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you — just email us at the address below and we'll take care of it, subject to records we're legally required to keep.
- Cookies: you can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.
09California Residents
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code § 1798.83) lets California residents request information about personal information shared with third parties for those parties' direct marketing. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing, so there's nothing to disclose — but you're welcome to contact us to confirm.
Broader California privacy rights under the CCPA/CPRA apply to businesses above certain size and revenue thresholds that Dank Sun does not currently meet. Even so, we're happy to honor reasonable requests to access or delete your information — just reach out.
10Children's Privacy
Our site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
